The Craft
Garments Rooted in Five Centuries of Artisanship
The Phiran has been worn in Kashmir since the 15th century, evolving from a simple garment into a canvas for extraordinary embroidery. Summer Phirans in silk and cotton carry delicate Sozni needle work; winter Phirans in thick handloom wool provide warmth through the valley's coldest months.
Aari embroidery — chain stitch worked with a fine hook — produces the lush, jewel-like patterns on our Kurta sets. Each motif traces its lineage back to Mughal court textiles. Every garment is handmade to order and carries a certificate of authenticity.
